In November 2007, the United States Bowling Congress announced a revised and expanded news media and communications awards program designed to recognize excellence in communicating news and information about the sport of bowling to the American bowling public. The contest is sponsored by the United States Bowling Congress’ official membership publication, US BOWLER.
The Indiana State USBC Women's Bowling Association received FIRST PLACE in the first USBC Media Awards Contest in the category of NEWSLETTER with the "IN INDIANA" publication that is published three times a season.
Second place winner was Louisiana State USBC WBA with its quarterly "Louisiana Lagniappe" and third place was "Kegler's Korner" from the South Sound USBC Association in Tacoma, Washington, and is distributed six times annually.
Newsletters were judged based upon excellence in content and design.
